[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] KCC has signed a business agreement for the '2022 On-dongne Forest' project with welfare organizations including Dobong-gu, Seoul, and the Low-rise Residential Area Regeneration Project Group, continuing its low-rise residential area environment improvement project for the fifth year.

On the 11th, KCC held a business agreement signing ceremony for On-dongne Forest at Dobong-gu Office, agreeing to improve the residential environment of Angol Village in Dobong-gu and support the revitalization of the village community. Attendees at the ceremony included Oh Eun-seok, Mayor of Dobong-gu, Kim Sang-jun, Executive Director of KCC, In Hyang-bong, Representative of the Low-rise Residential Area Regeneration Project Group, and Park Soo-bong, Head of the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation, among other officials.

KCC will support the project with 150 million KRW and improve the residential environment of the aging low-rise residential area through eco-friendly paint, windows, and insulation materials. Additionally, using its eco-friendly paint 'Sopro', KCC plans to brighten the village atmosphere by painting murals, installing solar streetlights, and placing comfortable chairs, thereby conducting environmental improvement work in the village.

The On-dongne Forest project is one of KCC's representative social contribution projects actively promoting ESG management activities. It is a project carried out through cooperation among local governments, private companies, and non-profit organizations to improve poor low-rise residential areas in Seoul into safe and pleasant environments. Since 2018, KCC has carried out mural paintings at 85 locations, residential environment improvements at 8 locations, and improvements of community facilities in four areas: Eungam Mountain Village in Eungam-dong, Eunpyeong-gu; Samtaegi Village in Sangwol-gok-dong, Seongbuk-gu; Our Village in Bukgajwa-dong, Seodaemun-gu; and Gulcham Village in Nangok-dong, Gwanak-gu.

A KCC official stated, "This year, targeting Angol Village in Dobong-gu, we will improve the village environment so that residents can live safely and comfortably and support community activities," adding, "As the On-dongne Forest project is KCC's representative social contribution project that realizes social value together with the local community, we will continue these activities steadily."
