Lee Jun-seok Shares Yeom Myung-sook's YouTube Video... Seems to Encourage Viewing
Yeom Myung-sook "Yoon, If You Want to Sow Discord, Do It with Your Real Name"
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Nayeon] On the 15th, Lee Jun-seok, leader of the People Power Party, shared a YouTube video by former Game Management Committee Chairperson Yeo Myeong-sook of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, saying, "Please absolutely do not watch it."
On the same day, Lee posted on his personal social media (SNS) the YouTube link of former Chairperson Yeo along with the comment, "Someone sent this to me, but to criticize me so harshly like this makes me very angry."
In the one-hour-long video, former Chairperson Yeo said things like, "The president was caught gossiping behind the backs of the floor leader and party leader, so is President Yoon the victim? Moreover, did Leader Lee hit first?" and "There must be evidence for internal criticism."
Regarding the criticism of Lee during the last presidential primary when the People Power Party was debating former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's party entry, Yeo defended Lee by saying, "Other candidates coordinated their entry dates and prepared everything, so should only he receive special treatment?" and "Isn't it natural for the train to depart once the time comes?"
She continued, "If former Prosecutor General Yoon had a stomachache on the day of the judicial exam, should the exam date be postponed? That's nonsense," and "Should party members wait because of an outsider who hasn't even joined the party?"
Regarding Lee's past remark that "If former Prosecutor General Yoon becomes president, I will leave the Earth," Yeo said, "At that time, Yoon was not only not a party member but also had not declared his presidential candidacy. No one knew whether he would join the Democratic Party or the People Power Party," and added, "How can an insider like Leader Lee not say that to an outsider?"
Former Chairperson Yeo directly addressed President Yoon, saying, "If you want to slander Leader Lee as a 'bad guy' or 'rude guy,' then spread it to reporters by name every time you do a doorstepping (informal press conference)," and "Say what you want to say openly in front of me."
Meanwhile, this is interpreted as former Chairperson Yeo defending Leader Lee, while Lee used his characteristic irony to encourage viewers to watch the video.
