It is a day when we overcame the pain of losing our nation and saw the light again. Now is the time for all of us to continue taking great strides toward the future so that we never experience such pain again.

On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of Liberation Day, the Seoul Metropolitan Council expresses deep gratitude to the patriotic martyrs who sacrificed for the restoration of our homeland and to their descendants. Upholding their spirit, the Council firmly pledges to become an even more dedicated body that lays the foundation for the prosperity of the Republic of Korea, starting here in Seoul, the heart of the nation.
