[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A driver who inserted a fake Hi-Pass card into the device and failed to pay highway tolls more than 130 times was fined.
On the 14th, the Ulsan District Court Criminal Division 6 announced that it sentenced a man in his 30s, Mr. A, who was tried for misuse of convenience facilities, to a fine of 500,000 won.
According to the court, Mr. A was indicted for failing to pay a total of approximately 530,000 won in highway tolls 131 times from May 2020 to August last year.
It was revealed that although Mr. A's vehicle had a Hi-Pass device, a credit card that was not authorized for payment was inserted.
The court stated, "Considering that he admitted his fault and showed remorse, paid all the unpaid tolls, and is a first-time offender with no criminal record, a fine was imposed."
