[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon will attend the 'Liberation Day Bell-Ringing Ceremony' held at Bosingak in Jongno at noon on the 15th to commemorate the 77th anniversary of Liberation Day. This bell-ringing ceremony, which was suspended since 2019 due to COVID-19, will resume after three years.

Mayor Oh, along with 11 bell-ringers, will ring the bell 33 times to honor the noble spirit of the patriotic martyrs who fought for independence with a strong sense of national salvation and to recreate the joy of liberation from 77 years ago.

This year's bell-ringers include Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, Seoul City Council Chairman Kim Hyun-ki, Jongno District Mayor Jeong Moon-heon, six descendants of independence activists, Seoul city ambassadors and world-renowned soprano Jo Sumi, Director Lee Joo-eun of the Youth Veterans Counseling Center, and singer Lee Sang-woo, who is a public ambassador for the Parents' Association for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Public Guardianship Project for People with Developmental Disabilities, totaling 12 participants. They will be divided into three groups of four, each ringing the bell 11 times for a total of 33 rings.
