YouTube Plans to Launch Online Store for Watching Various Video Streaming Services

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] YouTube, the world's largest video sharing platform, plans to launch an online store where users can watch various video streaming services, the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) reported on the 12th (local time), citing informed sources.

According to the report, YouTube is negotiating with entertainment companies for the platform. The platform, which has been in preparation for the past 18 months, is internally called the 'Channel Store,' and some sources said the service is expected to launch as early as this fall.

Once YouTube's online store opens, consumers will be able to access various video streaming services through the YouTube application. Major media outlets reported that Alphabet, YouTube's parent company, has not issued an immediate response to the report.
