[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Mokpo Coast Guard has been effectively serving as an ambulance on the sea by continuously transporting emergency patients from island villages and maritime areas to the mainland.
According to the Mokpo Maritime Police Station on the 12th, at around 1:45 PM the previous day, a report was received that Mr. A (male, in his 30s), who was working on water supply in Majindo, Sinan-gun, Jeollanam-do, was stung by a hornet and complained of facial paralysis symptoms, prompting the dispatch of a patrol vessel.
Upon arrival at the scene, the Coast Guard boarded Mr. A, his guardian, and public health center medical staff onto the patrol vessel and moved to the Coast Guard's exclusive pier, handing them over to the 119 ambulance team at around 2:55 PM that day.
Subsequently, at 12:42 AM on the 12th, the Coast Guard received a report that Mr. B (male, in his 60s), a crew member fishing off Jaewondo, Sinan-gun, was suffering from severe abdominal pain. Using a patrol vessel, they transported him to Jinri Port, Imjado, at around 3:13 AM that morning.
The two emergency patients urgently transported with the help of the Coast Guard were moved to a large hospital in Mokpo and are currently receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, the Mokpo Coast Guard, using patrol vessels and helicopters, transported 321 emergency patients from maritime and island areas last year, and has transported 177 emergency patients this year, doing their best to protect the precious lives of the people.
