[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] A civic group that filed a complaint against Lee Jae-myung, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (Incheon Gyeyang-eul), on charges of breach of trust under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes, will hold a memorial service for the officials who died during the investigation of the Daejang-dong development preferential treatment allegations.

On the 12th, the National Council of Evictees Central Committee (Jeoncheolhyeop) announced that it will hold a 'Memorial Service for the Deceased Related to Lee Jae-myung' at 11 a.m. on the 16th in front of the main gate of the National Assembly in Yeouido, Seoul.

Jeoncheolhyeop had filed a complaint with the High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Unit (Gongsoocheo) last August and September against then Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung for violations of the Act on the Prohibition of Improper Solicitation and Graft and the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Economic Crimes (breach of trust in the course of duty), among other charges.

Jeoncheolhyeop explained the reason for holding the memorial service, saying, "Despite numerous complaints, the prosecution and police did not conduct prompt investigations, and during that time, four people died. Many citizens have suspicions about their extreme choices."

They added, "We hope there are no doubts regarding their deaths," and "We are holding the memorial service to console their souls and urge the prosecution and police to conduct investigations."
