Gyeongbuk Office of Education Secondary 'Class Sharing Festival' with Over 500 Teachers Participating... Finding Directions for Classroom Teaching Innovation! Promotion notice for the 2022 Middle School Lesson Sharing Festival to be held on the 13th.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwi-yeol] The Gyeongbuk Office of Education will hold the ‘2022 Secondary School Lesson Sharing Festival’ on the 13th at 12 schools and institutions located in Pohang, Gyeongju, Andong, Gumi, Yeongcheon, Gyeongsan, Uiseong, Chilgok, and Uljin, with the participation of over 500 middle and high school teachers and education professionals to share and spread classroom culture.

The ‘Lesson Sharing Festival’ event is a place to share and spread methods and practical cases of classroom lesson improvement that have been continuously worked on at school sites. It started in 2017 and has been held for six years, establishing itself as a venue for lesson sharing and communication among secondary school teachers in the province.

To provide a safe training environment amid the COVID-19 situation and to establish a foundation for digital-based teaching and learning innovation, this event is conducted through a hybrid of online and offline using a metaverse platform, attracting much interest and participation from many teachers.

Under the theme “Prospects and Challenges of Classroom Lesson Transformation in the Post-COVID-19 Era,” future-oriented lesson models that reflect the characteristics of 13 subject groups will be presented, and practical cases will be shared through lesson demonstrations.

After the lesson demonstrations, there will be a time for questions and discussions to collectively contemplate and explore directions for classroom lesson innovation. Future-oriented teaching and learning methods and materials for all secondary school subjects will be shared through the metaverse platform and the Lesson Sharing Festival homepage.

Director of Education Kwon Young-geun said, “I hope this will greatly help in seeking directions for educational innovation that can respond to future society and strengthening teachers’ practical capabilities for improving future-oriented classroom lessons.” He added, “Furthermore, we will continuously strive to establish a learner-customized education foundation that maximizes the development of each student’s abilities and to transform classroom lessons to nurture future talents.”
