KakaoBank Donates 140 Million KRW for Heavy Rain Damage Recovery Fund

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunju Lee] KakaoBank announced on the 12th that it will donate 142.76 million KRW to support recovery efforts and aid victims affected by the heavy rain.


KakaoBank explained that it raised a total of 142.76 million KRW by combining a donation of 110 million KRW with a matching grant, where the company matches the amount collected by employees, adding an additional 32.76 million KRW.


On the same day, KakaoBank will donate the funds to the Community Chest of Korea (Sarangui Yeolmae). The donation will be used to provide relief supplies to flood victims through the National Disaster Relief Association (Hope Bridge) and to restore the damaged areas.


A KakaoBank official said, "Employees collectively contributed by emptying their 'piggy banks' to help those who lost their homes due to the unprecedented heavy rain," adding, "We hope this small help will support those going through difficulties."
