[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] KT Alpha and the KT Alpha Labor Union announced on the 12th that they conducted a mentoring program to support the independence of youth living in group homes in Seoul.

Group homes are communal living facilities where children and adolescents under the age of 18 who require protection and assistance due to difficulties in parental care or economic hardship live together. Since 2018, KT Alpha has maintained partnerships with group homes for five years, providing continuous emotional and financial support through various cultural experiences, education, and Hope Talent scholarships.

This program was designed to help youth living in group homes smoothly adapt to society and become independent based on their goals and visions after leaving care. With professional instructors, the program included tailored activities such as redefining personal dreams and goals, establishing short- and long-term plans aligned with social changes, and creating career roadmaps to prepare youth for social advancement and independence.

KT Alpha employees and collaborating artists paired one-on-one with group home youth to deliver vivid information about jobs and occupations. Team-building activities were also held to promote camaraderie among participants and teach organizational collaboration. Additionally, a tour of the KT Alpha Shopping Media Center was provided, allowing participants to experience the live broadcasting production environment by visiting the studio where home shopping broadcasts are filmed.

KT Alpha is engaged in various social contribution activities, including plogging in cooperation with Dongjak-gu to protect the local environment, recycling coffee grounds from local small business cafes, and sponsoring youth shooting teams. Moving forward, KT Alpha plans to continue strengthening community support and pursue ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management.
