[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] LG Uplus announced on the 12th that it signed a business agreement the day before with the National Institute for Lifelong Education to promote education-based social contribution activities.
The signing ceremony took place at the U+ Idle Nara Gangnam office, attended by key figures including Park Jong-wook, LG Uplus Idle Nara CO (Executive Director), and Kang Dae-jung, Director of the National Institute for Lifelong Education. The institute is a public organization under the Ministry of Education supporting national lifelong education, carrying out various educational support activities such as national lifelong education promotion projects, training and development of lifelong education workers, establishment of a comprehensive lifelong education information system, lifelong learning account system, support for city and provincial lifelong education promotion institutes, activation of lifelong learning cities, and operation of the credit bank system and self-study degree system.
Through this business agreement, both parties will focus on ▲utilizing each other's content for social contribution activities ▲providing the institute’s content on LG Uplus platforms ▲collaborating on the development and distribution of lifelong education content ▲disseminating and expanding parent education content tailored to life cycles. Previously, the two organizations conducted a social contribution program called the '12-Week Challenge' for military children, fostering self-directed learning habits by utilizing U+ Idle Nara content and the institute’s parent education content.
Going forward, they plan to jointly carry out various social contribution activities using U+ Idle Nara content such as English, reading, and the Nuri curriculum, along with parent education content from the nationwide Parent Support Center’s portal ‘ParentON Nuri.’ They will also mutually provide U+ Idle Nara and ParentON Nuri content and jointly produce content projects to support the activation of lifelong education.
Additionally, LG Uplus will strengthen parent-targeted content by scheduling the institute’s parent education content on U+ Idle Nara. U+ Idle Nara offers a 'Parent Classroom' service for parents, providing over 440 educational contents tailored to children’s life cycles, as well as four comprehensive childcare assessments including infant development, infant temperament, multiple intelligences, and parenting behaviors. LG Uplus expressed expectations that through this business agreement, U+ Idle Nara will establish itself as a highly practical service not only for infants and toddlers but also for parents.
Park Jong-wook, Idle Nara CO, stated, "Providing high-quality content from the National Institute for Lifelong Education on Idle Nara will not only enhance service competitiveness but also contribute to the activation of lifelong education for the public. We will continue to strengthen content cooperation with the institute so that parents and children can receive proper education and grow up correctly." Kang Dae-jung, Director of the National Institute for Lifelong Education, said, "We hope this agreement will serve as an opportunity to contribute to education for children and parents, and we expect more opportunities to create synergy in activating lifelong education by combining public services and private sector expertise."
