AK Plaza Offers Special Discount on Antibiotic-Free Freshwater Eel for Malbok

Next Year's Holiday Gift Set Launch Plan

Models are introducing antibiotic-free freshwater eel at the AK Plaza food hall.

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] AK Plaza announced on the 12th that it will hold a "No-Antibiotics Freshwater Eel Event" at the food courts of all its stores to mark Malbok (the last of the three hottest days in summer).

At this event, two no-antibiotics certified freshwater eels will be offered at a special price. The product is from Cheongsan Yangman English Cooperative Corporation, which is the first in Korea to receive both the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) food safety certification and no-antibiotics eel certification.

The no-antibiotics freshwater eel has been exclusively offered by AK Plaza's food courts in the department store industry for three years since 2020. Additionally, encouraged by positive customer feedback, it is planned to be introduced as a gift set during next year’s holiday season.

An AK Plaza representative said, "We are pleased to present the no-antibiotics freshwater eel, famous as a premium eel, for the third consecutive year," and added, "We hope customers will spend the last summer of this year healthily at a reasonable price in this era of high prices through this eel event."
