[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] The Democratic Party's Ethics Tribunal is scheduled to hold a retrial on the 18th for Representative Choi Kang-wook, who was sanctioned with a '6-month suspension of party membership' due to sexually harassing remarks.
A Democratic Party Ethics Tribunal official stated, "The retrial for Representative Choi will be held on the afternoon of the 18th," adding, "This is in response to his request for a retrial."
It is known that Representative Choi made sexually harassing remarks toward Representative Kim Nam-guk during an online meeting with Democratic Party members of the National Assembly's Legislation and Judiciary Committee last May.
The Democratic Party Ethics Tribunal held a meeting in June and unanimously confirmed the 6-month suspension of party membership. In response, Representative Choi requested a retrial from the Ethics Tribunal the day after the disciplinary action.
