Road Next to Geoje Sangmun-dong Community Center to Be 'Closed to Traffic' on the 29th

Implementation of Sangdong Urban Planning Road Soro 2-96 Line Construction Project

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Geoje City, Gyeongnam Province, will completely prohibit traffic on the road next to Sangmun-dong Community Center starting from the 29th.

This is to expedite the implementation of the ‘Sangdong Urban Planning Road Soro 2-96 Line Construction Project’ aimed at alleviating vehicle congestion in Sangdong-dong and to prevent safety accidents.

The construction project was promoted to disperse vehicle traffic and facilitate smooth traffic flow by expanding the right-turn lane on Jungro 1-18 Line in Sangdong.

A city official stated, “Considering the completion timing of the right-turn lane expansion on Jungro 1-18 Line, the opening of Soro 2-96 Line will be implemented. Although there may be some inconvenience due to traffic restrictions, the expanded lane will serve as a consolation.”

The city’s Road Department plans to enforce the traffic ban on the existing road starting from the 29th of this month and complete the construction within 60 days.

Entry and exit from Geoje Jungang-ro to Sangmun-dong Community Center will be allowed with restrictions.

An official said, “This is an unavoidable measure to shorten the construction period. We ask residents for a little understanding as we will finish the project as quickly as possible.”
