Changwon City Economic Indicator Survey to be Conducted from the 19th

Changwon Special City Urges Active Participation from Selected Manufacturing Companies as Samples

Changwon City Economic Indicator Survey to be Conducted from the 19th

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam will conduct the ‘2021 Changwon City Economic Indicator Survey’ targeting 1,000 manufacturing companies (sample) within the jurisdiction from the 19th to September 7th.

The economic indicator survey is a statistic first developed and compiled by Changwon City in Gyeongnam in 2019, and this year marks the fourth time. It is conducted annually to prepare basic data for understanding the direction of change in the local economy of Changwon City and for establishing economic policies. Last year, the survey was conducted targeting non-manufacturing industries.

The survey contents include six sections and 38 items: basic status of businesses ▲general status ▲personnel status ▲management status ▲industry status and outlook ▲Changwon City autonomous items. The questions are designed to analyze the characteristics of Changwon’s industries and economic conditions. The collected data will be used solely for statistical compilation purposes and will be strictly protected according to the Statistics Act.

Statistical investigators hired by the city will visit the businesses directly to conduct face-to-face interviews. Starting this year, responses via the internet are also possible, so businesses wishing to participate can receive guidance on the survey system ID and password when the investigator visits.

The results of this survey are scheduled to be announced in December.

Park Ju-ho, Director of Information and Communication, stated, “The economic indicator survey is an important statistical survey that, separate from the nationwide business surveys conducted by Statistics Korea, identifies the unique economic situation of Changwon City and serves as basic data for city policy formulation.” He added, “Although it is a difficult time due to worsening internal and external conditions such as COVID-19 and rising raw material prices, we ask for the active cooperation of businesses.”
