2022 Target Amount Raised from 2 Billion Won to 3 Billion Won
[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Cheon-seok] The online agricultural specialty product shopping mall 'Boseong Mall,' operated by Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, is growing rapidly.
Boseong Mall, which recorded sales of 929 million KRW last year, raised its sales target to 2 billion KRW this year, but as of the end of July, it has achieved sales of 1.8 billion KRW, and is expected to reach its target early.
Accordingly, Boseong-gun has raised the 2022 sales target for Boseong Mall to 3 billion KRW.
Boseong-gun opened Boseong Mall, an online shopping mall, in 2017 to allow local farmers to sell agricultural specialty products without commission fees.
Starting with 48 million KRW in its first year, 2017, sales grew to 228 million KRW in 2018, 419 million KRW in 2019, 467 million KRW in 2020, and 929 million KRW in 2021.
Boseong-gun provides benefits to farmers registered in Boseong Mall, including support for creating detailed product pages, full exemption of card and other payment fees, 50% support for delivery fees, and support for producing Boseong Mall delivery packaging materials.
For customers, various incentives are provided, such as 2,000 KRW credit upon new membership registration, 3% purchase points, 100 KRW for daily attendance checks, and up to 300 KRW for product reviews and comments.
Starting from the 22nd, a Chuseok holiday discount event will also begin. All products in Boseong Mall can be purchased at a 10% discounted price.
Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong-gun, said, “We will strive to develop diverse and solid sales channels so that farmers can focus solely on agriculture without worrying about sales, and by expanding direct transaction sales support including Boseong Mall, we will create an environment where both farmers and consumers can win.”
Meanwhile, Boseong-gun is reducing the sales burden on farmers through securing various sales channels and providing consumers with high-quality Boseong agricultural specialty products at reasonable prices. This year, about 100 million KRW in sales were made through online commerce including the Post Office e-commerce platform.
