FnGuide Adds Data to 'Digital Industrial Innovation Big Data Platform'

[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Financial information company FnGuide announced on the 11th that it has added 7 types and 57 data products to the 'Digital Industrial Innovation Big Data Platform,' which is built and operated by the Korea Industrial Technology Testing Institute, since the 21st of last month.

The Ministry of Science and ICT has been building and operating big data platforms in 16 fields (finance, environment, culture, transportation, healthcare, distribution & consumption, telecommunications, small and medium enterprises, regional economy, forestry, agricultural food, digital industrial innovation, lifelog, fire safety, smart policing, marine fisheries) since 2019 to support the entire data value chain cycle (collection, processing, analysis, distribution, utilization). FnGuide provides data to the 'Digital Industrial Innovation Big Data Platform' among these. This platform was created to foster a rational industrial data distribution and transaction environment and to promote digital transformation across industries.

The platform involves 14 data-providing companies (10 centers and 4 voluntary centers). As of August, 604 data products related to logistics, distribution, patents, overseas companies, science and technology news, and manufacturing are available both free and paid. FnGuide has participated as a data provider on this platform since 2020. Related data can be downloaded through the platform.

FnGuide initially released corporate data such as financial information, consensus, and shareholding structures of listed companies, as well as data products like industry-specific aggregated financials, consensus, indices, and thematic indices. This time, it has additionally released data that allows multifaceted analysis and forecasting of companies and industries, including competitor analysis, industry ranking analysis, consensus screener, and industry ranking analysis. Separately from the data product release, a 'Data Challenge' event, which is a data competition based on the released data on various themes, is planned to be held again this year between September and November. An FnGuide official stated, “Establishing data-driven management strategies by each company is a demand of the times to adapt to ongoing uncertainties and rapidly changing environments,” and added, “We hope many companies will utilize the big data platform, including FnGuide’s data.”
