[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Kolon Resort & Hotel is launching the ‘Kolon Forest’ promotion, which allows guests to escape their busy daily lives and connect with nature.
According to Kolon Resort & Hotel on the 11th, this promotion was planned in response to the growing trend among the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) to enjoy leisure time in harmony with nature. The packages range from outdoor activities paired with light refreshments to ‘forest relaxation’ in a Korean red pine forest and even cultivating your own small garden.
Geumgangsong Ecorium, a forest stay facility in Uljin, offers the ‘Rustic Chon-cance’ package, where guests can experience the tranquil countryside atmosphere. The package includes props that evoke a rural feel, such as two pairs of refrigerator pants, two straw hats, and a light snack set, perfect for taking memorable photos with friends. The snack set is served in a woven basket and includes eggs, Sikhye (sweet rice drink), and dried sweet potatoes.
The ‘Nap Solsol’ package allows guests to experience a forest vacation while enjoying the ambiance of Korean red pines. Along with forest trekking and tea meditation, the package provides a personal hammock and two cups of pine needle beverage to soothe the mind and body in the great outdoors.
At Kolon Hotel in Gyeongju, Mauna Ocean Resort, and Kolon Sea Cloud Hotel in Busan, the ‘Green Pleasure’ package is available, offering an opportunity to experience seed gardening with the plant lifestyle brand Seed Keeper. Guests receive a ‘Magic Bean Seed Kit’ containing peanuts, chickpeas, speckled kidney beans, and peas, allowing them to grow their own beans during a one-night stay.
Additionally, four Kolon resorts and hotels located in Gyeongju, Busan, and Seoul are hosting the ‘I’ll Give You My Cup, Give Me Seeds’ event, which promotes upcycling gardening by reusing plastic waste from daily life. After enjoying breakfast or coffee at each resort or hotel, guests can present an empty yogurt cup or takeout cup at the front desk to receive one type of Seed Keeper seed per person. This event is on a first-come, first-served basis and will end early once the seeds run out.
A representative from Kolon Resort & Hotel said, “We prepared this promotion to target the needs of the MZ generation, who prefer to relax in nature and rural settings away from the busy city.” They added, “We hope travelers tired from daily life will feel ‘rest’ and create special memories at Kolon Resort & Hotel, located in the heart of nature.”
