2022 Seoul Popcon Opens on the 25th... Marvel, DC Artists and Naver Webtoon Writers Gather in One Place

[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The pop culture convention ‘2022 Seoul POPCON’ will be held from the 25th to the 28th at COEX in Samseong-dong, Seoul. This event showcases Korea’s excellent content, which has grown into the center of the global content market, along with diverse and dynamic pop culture from around the world.

At the signature program ‘Artist Aelly,’ various domestic and international artists will gather in one place. Twenty-one talented artists, including artist Heukyoseok, famous for collaboration illustrations with Marvel Comics, and Na Seunghoon, the creator of the webtoon ‘Nojima Jeongsinjul,’ as well as Mad Cherry, Mia Cat, Panopticon, and Gohyeonsaeng (古現生), will participate and communicate with fans worldwide. Additionally, a drawing zone where anyone can freely leave memories of Seoul POPCON in drawings will be held at the Samwon Special Paper booth.

On the main stage at the venue, various programs such as talk shows and live drawing shows will take place. These include a live drawing show by artist Lee Inhyuk, famous for Marvel and DC cover art; a talk show by director Lee Byunghun, who worked on the movie ‘Extreme Job’ and the drama ‘Melo Is My Nature’; and a talk show by Japanese animation director Takayuki Hirao. Talk show guests also include Joo Donggeun, creator of the Naver Webtoon ‘Now at Our School,’ and Oh Seongdae, creator of ‘Giggigoi.’ Notably, C.B Cebulski, editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics, will directly communicate with Korean Marvel fans and conduct a portfolio review to discover new Korean artists.
