Daekyo-KT Promote Korean Language Improvement Education Project for Children of Multicultural Families

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Minjae] Daekyo announced on the 11th that it will promote a Korean language improvement education project for children from multicultural families in collaboration with KT.

Children from multicultural families refer to those who were born and raised abroad and later entered Korea mid-way following their parents due to international marriages, or children born in Korea.

Daekyo was selected as the implementing agency for KT's ‘Multicultural Family Online Night School - Korean Language and Korean Culture Education’ program. For six months until January next year, it will conduct Korean language improvement education and experiential learning programs.

Daekyo provides a systematic online Korean language learning service and supports emotional programs to resolve various psychological difficulties experienced by children from multicultural families during their adaptation to Korean society and to enhance their learning motivation.

Additionally, it offers diverse experiential programs where children can understand and experience Korean history, art, and occupations, helping them adapt to life in Korea and develop the competencies necessary as members of society.

A Daekyo official stated, “Children from multicultural families face difficulties adapting to school life due to unstable basic language acquisition, and emotional support is very important due to stress. We expect this Korean language improvement education project to help students in educational blind spots with social adaptation and emotional stability.”
