Mokpo City Thoroughly Prevents Seawater Flooding Due to Tide Rise

[Mokpo=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Hyeong-seok] Mokpo City in Jeollanam-do emphasized thorough preparation to prevent damage as the sea water level is expected to rise more than 5 meters between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. from the 12th to the 15th during the spring tide period (the highest tide on the 14th is 5.23m according to the tide table).

In particular, they requested a ban on parking and stopping vehicles in coastal low-lying areas that are flood warning zones.

The city has organized an emergency duty team and is conducting pre-inspections of drainage pump stations, drainage gates, and sewer gates to prevent flooding caused by the rising tide.

At the same time, local patrol activities in coastal low-lying areas are being strengthened to respond to flood damage prevention.

Meanwhile, Mokpo City designates a seawater hazard day when the sea water level exceeds 4.90m according to the tide table and actively responds to prevent flood damage to property and other losses.
