[Asia Economy Reporter Han Yeju] Domestic display companies such as Samsung Display and LG Display will participate in the 'K-Display 2022 Korea Display Industry Exhibition' held at COEX, Seoul from the 10th, showcasing a large number of next-generation innovative display technologies.

Samsung Display will unveil QD-OLED technology, which combines the next-generation light-emitting materials Quantum Dot and OLED9 (Organic Light Emitting Diode), for the first time in Korea at this 'K-Display 2022'.

The most eye-catching 'WOW Zone' in the QD-OLED exhibition hall is a large multi-vision wall measuring 5m wide and 3.5m high. The screen, made up of three 65-inch QD-OLED panels, four 55-inch panels, and four 34-inch panels, demonstrates the perfect color reproduction and black expression of QD, according to the company.

Eco Square OLED Plus (Eco²OLED PlusTM) and UPC Plus (UPC PlusTM) technologies, first applied in the 'Galaxy Z Fold4', will also be introduced for the first time.

In addition, various next-generation products such as the S-shaped foldable that folds twice, the G-shaped foldable that folds inward twice, laptop-type foldables, and slidable devices will be extensively exhibited.

LG Display unveiled the '97-inch OLED.EX', the largest OLED TV panel currently available, for the first time in Korea. OLED.EX features a 30% increase in screen brightness (luminance) by applying heavy hydrogen technology to the organic light-emitting device, and expresses the colors of nature more precisely. The company explained that it is a next-generation OLED TV panel that achieves perfect black in any environment.

They also revealed '48-inch and 42-inch OLED.EX' panels optimized for gaming, exhibiting LG Display's full lineup of OLED TV panels from extra-large to small and medium sizes.

Other exhibits include the 'Transparent Media Art Wall', which connects 16 transparent OLED panels tiled on a wall to display various content; the 'Transparent Showcase', which combines transparent OLED with product display shelves; the 'Transparent Wallskin', a modular interior panel with built-in transparent OLED attached to existing walls; and the 'Transparent OLED Solution for Meeting Rooms (model name E Crystal)', which integrates transparent OLED into glass walls.

Meanwhile, this exhibition, marking its 21st year, is hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Display Industry Association, with 167 domestic and international companies setting up a record 557 booths. Last year, 114 companies exhibited 290 booths.
