[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-yoon] Hite Jinro announced on the 10th that it will participate as a special sponsor in the '2022 Jeonju Gamac Festival,' held for three days from the 11th to the 13th at the Jeonju Sports Complex Baseball Stadium.
The Jeonju Gamac Festival is Jeonju's representative local festival that highlights the unique drinking culture of Gamac, or store beer, and this year marks its 6th edition. In particular, it promotes itself as a "beer festival where you can drink beer brewed today on the same day" by utilizing the Hite Jinro beer factory in the region. This year, fresh Terra beer brewed on the day will be offered along with more than 20 Gamac side dishes from places like Jeonun Gamac and Anhaeng Square at affordable prices. At the last festival held in 2019, 110,000 visitors attended over three days, and 80,000 bottles of beer were sold out.
Hite Jinro and the festival organizing committee will introduce capacity limits and a non-face-to-face ordering system in preparation for the resurgence of COVID-19 this year. They have prepared 4,000 seats, which is 30% fewer than in 2019, and attendees can order side dishes via an app while seated. Thermal cameras and hand sanitizers will also be installed at the entrance. Attendees will be encouraged to wear masks except when eating or drinking.
The beer sales booth will be decorated as the ‘Terra Dam,’ providing various attractions. On the first day, a drone show featuring the Terra logo will be presented for the first time. Additionally, the brand promotion booth will offer consumer events that can be participated in at any time, festival stickers, tattoo services, and photo zones will be set up throughout the venue. The second day of the festival will be operated as 'Terra Day,' featuring a special stage with audience participation.
Oh Seong-taek, Executive Director of Marketing at Hite Jinro, said, "We are pleased to participate in the Jeonju Gamac Festival, which we have waited three years to enjoy, and we will spare no effort to support the festival's development and growth in various ways every year." He added, "As it has established itself as Korea's representative local festival, we will provide enjoyable experiences and various benefits that satisfy the five senses of tourists nationwide."
