Heavy Rain Expected Mainly in Central Region Tomorrow
Morning Low Temperatures 20~28°C
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] On the afternoon of the 9th, heavy rain fell in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul, making the commute home even more difficult. On the 10th, heavy rain is expected mainly in the central region. The monsoon is expected to continue for the time being.
As of 4:30 PM on the 9th, rain is pouring at a rate of 30 to 60 mm per hour mainly in Seoul, Incheon, northern Gyeonggi, and northern Gangwon. Other central regions are experiencing about 10 mm of rain per hour.
The Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) urged caution as rain accompanied by gusts, thunder, and lightning could fall at an intensity of 50 to 100 mm per hour in the Seoul metropolitan area, including Seoul, during the commute home. Rainfall influenced by a stationary front is expected mainly in the central region and northern Gyeongbuk until the 11th.
On the 10th and 11th, the entire country will be under the influence of the stationary front. However, the areas experiencing rain will vary depending on the position of the stationary front.
The KMA forecasted that rain will fall in Honam and northern Gyeongbuk as well as other parts of Yeongnam starting from the 10th. Additionally, the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon are expected to see a lull in rain from the afternoon to night on the 10th.
The Seoul metropolitan area, inland central and southern Gangwon, mountainous central and southern Gangwon, Chungcheong, northwestern inland Gyeongbuk, and northern Jeonbuk are expected to receive 100 to 300 mm of rainfall from the 9th to the 11th. Some areas in Chungcheong may receive over 350 mm of rain.
As a narrow band of rain clouds moves slowly, heavy rainfall with hourly precipitation reaching 50 to 100 mm is expected at times.
Strong winds with instantaneous wind speeds exceeding 55 km/h are expected in areas where rain is falling.
Meanwhile, the KMA emphasized, "Since heavy rain has fallen in the Seoul metropolitan area and Gangwon since the 8th, please prepare thoroughly to prevent damage from additional rainfall."
The minimum temperature on the morning of the 10th is expected to be between 20 and 28 degrees Celsius, and the maximum temperature during the day is expected to be between 26 and 32 degrees Celsius.
