[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Shim Jung-woo] The Buncheong Culture Museum in Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced that it will open the "Museum University 3rd Term," a cultural lecture series that awakens humanistic imagination and artistic sensibility, in collaboration with ING Education Co., Ltd. (CEO Lee Soo-yeon), and is recruiting students.
This Museum University will be held under the title "Goheung Ceramics - Its Flow and Future, the Evolution of Ceramics in the Goheung Region and Buncheong Ware," and will take place every Tuesday from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, with two lectures per day, at the museum auditorium for 10 weeks from September 13 to November 22. Student recruitment will be on a first-come, first-served basis from August 12 to September 7.
This semester invites renowned researchers from various fields as lecturers to cover the history and future of local ceramics. The program consists of a total of 20 lectures including theory, hands-on experience, and field trips, presenting diverse and interesting topics in an easy-to-understand manner.
In particular, reflecting the growing interest of residents as the value of the old is being re-evaluated through the Newtro trend, the program is designed to help participants correctly understand and take pride in the excellent "ceramic culture" of the Goheung region, providing an opportunity to broaden understanding of ceramics, which are usually difficult to access.
Those wishing to participate can apply online (via Naver Form) through the Buncheong Culture Museum website, with registration closing upon reaching 40 participants on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Buncheong Culture Museum's Museum University is a social education program for adults and is free of charge for anyone to attend. Just do it.
A county official stated, "Amid the recent social atmosphere of increasing interest in history, culture, and art-related topics, this lecture series was prepared to provide residents with accurate information about Korea’s unique ceramic culture and to enhance their pride as cultural citizens. Since the Goheung Buncheong Culture Museum has been designated as the ‘Goheung Buncheong Ware Cultural and Arts Special Zone,’ we expect this to be a meaningful opportunity to raise the humanistic and artistic literacy of residents through high-quality expert lectures."
