[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam is recruiting ‘Changwon City Newsletter Citizen Reporters’ who will vividly deliver warm news and good stories from the region.

The city will accept applications through a public contest from the 9th to the 24th, and anyone aged 13 or older (middle school students) who is registered as a resident of Changwon can apply. Applicants can download the application form from the city’s website, select a free topic about Changwon, write an article, and submit it.

Based on this, the city will conduct a review and select a total of 40 citizen reporters in order of highest scores. To evenly deliver news from the region, citizen reporters will be selected evenly from the five districts.

The selected citizen reporters will be active for the next two years. Although it is an unpaid honorary position, a fixed manuscript fee will be paid when the reported articles are published in the city newsletter.

Choi Jong-ok, the Public Relations Officer, said, “The Changwon City Newsletter is the representative newsletter of Changwon Special City that accurately and promptly delivers major city administration and essential lifestyle information to citizens. The role of citizen reporters in sharing diverse opinions from all walks of life and delivering vivid local news is very important. Especially from this year, the age limit for citizen reporter applications has been significantly lowered to allow applications from age 13 (middle school students) and above, so we hope many citizens will participate.”
