Closed on the second and fourth Fridays of every month... Boosting Employee Morale
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] Global e-commerce platform Cafe24 announced on the 9th that it has been selected as one of the '2022 Korea Job Excellence Companies' by the Ministry of Employment and Labor.
The Korea Job Excellence Companies is a system in which the Ministry of Employment and Labor objectively selects and encourages 100 companies that have taken the lead in creating a quality job culture. In this year's evaluation, Cafe24 was highly praised for its efforts in expanding the four-day workweek, welfare systems, a horizontal organizational culture, and competency-based recruitment. In particular, the Off Day system, implemented since May last year, designates the entire company off on the second and fourth Fridays of each month, increasing employee job satisfaction and work concentration.
Cafe24 has aimed for a horizontal organizational culture based on rationality and mutual respect. Regardless of age or years of service, employees address each other as "nim," and are free to choose their work attire. Additionally, the company has strived to improve the work environment by offering a 30-day paid sabbatical every seven years, annual welfare points to support employee self-development, and flexible work arrangements such as remote work and staggered commuting hours in response to the COVID-19 situation.
Jaeseok Lee, CEO of Cafe24, said, "In the IT knowledge industry, business innovation is achieved by talented individuals with creativity," adding, "We will enable all employees to work autonomously and enhance corporate competitiveness more efficiently."
