[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] On the afternoon of the 8th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it will implement emergency transportation measures as a heavy rain warning was issued across Seoul.
Since a large number of citizens are expected to use public transportation, the number of public transportation operations during peak commuting hours will be increased from the start of the evening rush hour until the heavy rain warning is lifted. The peak dispatch hours will be extended by 30 minutes, until 9:30 a.m. for the morning commute and until 8:30 p.m. for the evening commute.
The subway will increase operations by 2 times each during the evening rush hour on Lines 5 to 7 and the Sillim Line, totaling 8 additional runs. During the last train hours, Lines 1 to 9, the Ui-Sinseol Line, and the Sillim Line will all be extended by 30 minutes, increasing a total of 74 runs.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government will continue emergency duty until the heavy rain warning is lifted and respond in real time to public transportation and road conditions.
