Ram Technology Accelerates HSP Business Entry with Large-Scale Expansion of Semiconductor Process Materials

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Ram Technology, a specialized company in semiconductor process chemical materials, announced on the 8th that it has decided to invest 20 billion KRW in factory expansion and facility enhancement.

The facility investment includes ▲expansion of automated production equipment for semiconductor nitride film etching solution ▲establishment of a comprehensive analysis center ▲expansion of oxide film etching solution facilities ▲supplementation of high selectivity nitride film etching solution facilities. The project will be carried out on the existing site of the Geumsan factory in Chungnam. The investment period is until the end of February 2024, and the automated production equipment will be sequentially put into operation.

It is expected that once the automation equipment for semiconductor nitride film etching solution production and the expansion of oxide film etching solution facilities are completed, productivity will increase by about 2 to 3 times compared to the existing production capacity. The company explained that product quality and efficiency will also improve.

Ram Technology has been focusing on product development to enter the HSP (High Selectivity Phosphoric acid) business, including registering a patent for a "batch-type etching device for verifying high selectivity nitride film etching solution" in June. They plan to accelerate product production by supplementing the high selectivity nitride film etching solution facilities.

A Ram Technology official said, "As demand for semiconductor nitride film etching solution continues, we decided to invest in expanding production capacity and improving quality through factory expansion with automated production equipment," adding, "Although the establishment of the hydrofluoric acid factory has been delayed due to administrative litigation related to the factory establishment, we will strive to diversify the semiconductor process material business and enhance competitiveness."
