Shin-Gori Unit 4 Power Plant Shutdown, Resumption in October... KHNP Begins Second Planned Maintenance

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Shin-Kori Unit 4 has stopped power generation and will resume operation in October after undergoing planned preventive maintenance, including fuel replacement and equipment inspection.

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Saewool Nuclear Power Headquarters (Head Lee Sang-min) announced on the 8th that "Shin-Kori Unit 4 (Pressurized Water Reactor type, 1.4 million kW class) began its second planned preventive maintenance at 10 a.m."

During the planned preventive maintenance period, Shin-Kori Unit 4 plans to secure the safety and reliability of the power generation facilities through statutory inspections under the Nuclear Safety Act, nuclear fuel replacement, and inspection and maintenance of major equipment and facilities.

After various statutory inspections and conformity verification by regulatory agencies, Shin-Kori Unit 4 is scheduled to resume power generation in October upon receiving operational approval from the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission.
