The Gangjin Living Experience program was conducted for two weeks starting from the 24th of last month, involving four youths from Gangjin and eight youths from other regions. They explored the cultural assets and environment of the area and sought ways to commercialize these into startups.
As a result of the activities, four youths expressed their desire to settle in Gangjin, established a platform for information exchange fostering mutual growth with local youths, and achieved promotional effects for Gangjin through a famous YouTuber.
Jeon Ji-yoon, CEO of Art Rhapsody, which is carrying out the Youth Village Making project, stated, “We plan to expand the Creative Troupe activities and promote cultural salons and flea markets centered around Gangjin-eup Market and Byeongyeong Market to facilitate exchanges with local residents.”
Governor Gang Jin-won said, “We will actively support the Youth Village Making project and youth startups. If participants wish to settle in Gangjin through the four-week living experience, we will provide housing linked to projects such as renovating 1,000 vacant houses to encourage population inflow.”
Meanwhile, the Youth Village Making project has been underway since 2022 with an annual budget of 200 million KRW for three years, aiming for youths to start businesses and fully settle in Gangjin.
