[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] TMON announced on the 8th that it will strengthen its cross-border sales service to China. To this end, TMON signed an MOU with D20 and Falcon ENM. On the day, the three companies agreed to support the entry of promising domestic brands and products into the Chinese live commerce market, operate offline stores for cross-border products, and help K-brands enter the global distribution market.
First, products sold on TMON will be introduced through 'Douyin,' a Chinese short-form video platform equipped with live commerce features. D20, which has a network of 'Wanghong (Chinese influencers)' active in Korea, will sell products via real-time broadcasts together with TMON, while Falcon ENM will handle content production and support sales and operations of the cross-border business, selling through TMON's official mall on the Chinese platform.
TMON's partners who want to pioneer sales channels in China through live commerce can test business feasibility initially without going through complicated procedures such as entering Chinese platforms, marketing, and logistics preparation. Major products include beauty, processed foods, and clothing, which are highly sought after by Chinese consumers.
D20 opened the 'D20 Korea-China Live Commerce Center' in the heart of Myeongdong, Seoul, and also established its own studio for Chinese live commerce. By utilizing the domestic Wanghong network and live commerce studio, cross-border sales can be easily conducted without directly entering China. An offline space to exhibit and sell cross-border products launched in the Chinese online market is also planned to be set up in Myeongdong.
Jang Yoon-seok, CEO of TMON, said, "Our role as a platform is to help promising brands discovered and grown through TMON's brand fulfillment, including partners working with TMON, to enter not only the domestic but also overseas markets." He added, "We will actively utilize the infrastructure and networks of the three companies to diversify opportunities for K-brands to enter the global market."
