Gangnam Cha Hospital Ranks First Nationwide in Patient Experience Evaluation for Nursing Sector

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Cha University of Medicine and Science Gangnam CHA Hospital announced on the 8th that it ranked first nationwide in the nurse domain in the '2021 Patient Experience Evaluation' conducted by the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service.

The patient experience evaluation assesses patients' hospitalization experiences and evaluates whether hospitals provide the medical services that patients want and need. The Review and Assessment Service introduced the patient experience evaluation in 2017 and has been publishing the evaluation results every two years.

The third evaluation was conducted on 359 institutions, including tertiary general hospitals and general hospitals, with 58,297 discharged patients aged 19 or older participating in the survey. Gangnam CHA Hospital was evaluated for the first time in this third evaluation, which expanded the evaluation target to general hospitals with more than 100 beds.

Gangnam CHA Hospital received the highest nationwide score of 96.16 points in the nurse domain of the patient experience evaluation, ranking first. In the 'medication and treatment process' domain, it scored 90.65 points, ranking second nationwide, and in 'patient rights protection,' it ranked third nationwide. In the Net Promoter Score (NPS) category, it achieved 50 points, significantly exceeding the overall average of 35.7 points for all responding medical institutions, confirming that it is a hospital trusted and recommended by customers.

Detailed scores in the nurse domain included ▲respect and courtesy toward patients 96.98 points ▲listening 97.15 points ▲explanation of hospital life 95.86 points ▲efforts to handle patients' requests for help 94.66 points.

Hospital Director Roh Dong-young said, "The scores given by inpatients who experienced Gangnam CHA Hospital make this even more meaningful and significant," adding, "We will continue to innovate and strive to maintain patient safety and the quality of medical services worthy of the title of Korea's leading women's hospital."

Gangnam CHA Hospital ranked 14th nationwide among all institutions and 7th among general hospitals with a total score of 87.94 points in this evaluation.
