Subscriber Count Increased by 200% in the Past Year
GS25's official YouTube channel 'Iri Onora' has become the first in the industry to reach 1 million subscribers.
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chunhan] GS25 announced on the 8th that its official YouTube channel ‘Iri Oneora’ has become the first in the industry to reach 1 million subscribers.
According to GS Retail, the Iri Oneora channel surpassed 1 million subscribers on the 5th of this month, less than two months after reaching 900,000 in June this year, following 500,000 subscribers in August last year. The number of subscribers has increased by 200% in just one year, which is interpreted as a result of focusing on entertainment content.
The most popular content is “Motbaeunnomdeul,” which has progressed through season 5 and has accumulated 17 million views. Content featuring entertainer Jonathan teaching the Kongo language has also recorded 960,000 views to date.
A GS Retail official said, “The Iri Oneora channel was created not as an advertising corporate YouTube channel but as a convenience store community channel that provides only enjoyment and fun to its 1 million fandom customers,” adding, “We will share special and enjoyable content experiences even in ordinary daily life with the largest social network service (SNS) fandom customers in the distribution industry.”
