[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Nayeon] Israeli magician Uri Geller (76), famous for supernatural tricks like 'spoon bending,' has issued a public warning against Russian President Vladimir Putin's 'nuclear war provocations.'

According to the recent issue of the current affairs weekly Newsweek, self-proclaimed 'psychic' Uri Geller posted a letter-style message on Twitter titled 'Warning to Putin,' claiming, "I will use all of my 'mind power' without holding anything back to stop your (Putin's) nuclear weapon attack."

He continued, "There are rumors and intelligence that you are seriously considering the use of strategic nuclear weapons targeting the West's enemies," adding, "However, your mission control computers will go down, navigation systems will fail, and missiles will malfunction."

He stated, "The massive energy formed by the combined mind power of all of us has a force beyond your imagination, and I am confident that it will prevent you from starting a nuclear war," also warning, "If you start a nuclear war, the ones who will suffer the most are Russia and its people."

Geller posted a video featuring a mushroom cloud from a nuclear explosion with a photo of President Putin in the background. Mentioning the dangers of a nuclear attack, he said, "This is a sincere warning. I hope you take it seriously."

He also uploaded a short clip from the movie X-Men: First Class. The video shows 'Magneto,' who has the power to manipulate metal, using his abilities to stop incoming missiles.

Geller is a globally recognized figure who can bend metal objects like spoons with telekinesis. He gained worldwide fame after appearing on the popular 1970s American talk show The Tonight Show. In Korea, he appeared live on KBS in 1984, showcasing a 'psychic show' including spoon bending, seed germination, fixing broken clocks, and lifting people with his fingers.

He also posted a similar open letter in 2019. Addressing former UK Prime Minister Theresa May, he said, "I will stop Brexit with my telepathic abilities," and urged, "Please immediately halt Brexit before I resort to extreme measures (psychic powers)."

Meanwhile, President Putin stated in a letter sent to the 10th Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) Review Conference held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on the 1st (local time), "There can be no winners in a nuclear war, and this war must never be started," emphasizing, "I believe there are no winners in a nuclear war, and this war must never be initiated."

Earlier, in a speech announcing the invasion of Ukraine on February 24, Putin mentioned Russia's nuclear capabilities and warned that if external forces intervene, "they will see consequences unlike anything in history." On the 27th, he ordered the Russian military to switch to a heightened state of readiness for nuclear forces.
