Gwanak-gu and Dongjak-gu Support Child Psychological and Emotional Development through Public-Private-Academic Partnership Agreement

Promotion of the Mental Health Prevention Project "Emotional Mask - Maumtodak Body Meter" for Children's Psychological and Emotional Stability

Gwanak-gu and Dongjak-gu Support Child Psychological and Emotional Development through Public-Private-Academic Partnership Agreement

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu District Office (Mayor Park Junhee) signed a business agreement on the 3rd with Dongjak-gu District Office (Mayor Park Ilha), Seoul Dongjak Gwanak Office of Education (Superintendent Yoo Insook), and Good Neighbors Seo-in Regional Headquarters (Director Hong Seongyo) to promote the psychological and emotional development and welfare of children.

This agreement promises to form a public-private-academic working council based on mutual cooperation to faithfully carry out mental health prevention projects, psychological and emotional projects, and child welfare projects for children, as well as to cooperate in promotion and support.

Through this agreement, Gwanak-gu and Dongjak-gu will actively participate in the projects, promote them, and provide budget support; Seoul Dongjak Gwanak Office of Education will actively promote to students, parents, and teachers; and Good Neighbors Seo-in Regional Headquarters will carry out the projects such as program implementation.

In particular, due to the recent increase in non-face-to-face classes caused by COVID-19 and the lack of language transmission due to masks, more emphasis will be placed on mental health prevention projects to stabilize the psychological and emotional state of anxious children.

A professional therapist will be dispatched to 86 elementary school classes in the region to operate the ‘Emotional Mask - Mind Patting Body Scale’ program, which helps children understand and regulate their own emotions.

Mayor Park Junhee said, “I am pleased to sign this agreement for the psychological and emotional stability and welfare promotion of children in the community through cooperation among the public, private, and academic sectors,” and added, “We will continue to work with the community to create an environment where children can play healthily.”
