[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the afternoon of the 5th, Dongdaemun-gu Mayor Ilpyeong Lee visited the Yongsin-dong Community Center to spend time communicating with staff and residents.


This 'Communication Meeting,' hosted by Mayor Lee who prioritizes communication at the frontline, began at the Yongsin-dong Community Center and plans to continue to the remaining 13 community centers.


Mayor Lee, who visited the Yongsin-dong Community Center, encouraged the staff, directly inspected the status of each neighborhood and the handling of civil complaints, and met with resident representatives to exchange various opinions.


Ilpyeong Lee, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, said, "I feel deeply moved to have the opportunity to meet with residents and have an open and sincere conversation," adding, "We will continue to hold such occasions frequently to directly hear the voices of residents, carefully examine their difficulties, and do our best to create a happy Dongdaemun-gu."

On the 5th, Kim Tae-woo, Mayor of Gangseo-gu, Seoul, attended the ‘13th Gyeomjae Tomorrow’s Artist Contest Opening and Awards Ceremony’ held at the Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum, encouraging emerging artists and appreciating the award-winning works.


The event was attended by about 50 people including Mayor Kim, Kim Jin-ho, Director of Gangseo Cultural Center, and contest winners, and proceeded in the order of ▲Opening Ceremony ▲Award Ceremony ▲Introduction of Works and Artists ▲Artwork Viewing.


Mayor Kim Tae-woo said, “I deeply thank the Gangseo Cultural Center and the Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum staff who serve as a gateway for young and promising emerging artists,” adding, “The district will also do its best to create a Gangseo full of culture and arts by supporting local cultural artists and expanding opportunities for residents to enjoy culture.”


The Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum (Director Kim Yong-kwon) has been planning and exhibiting the ‘Gyeomjae Tomorrow’s Artist’ contest to inherit the artistic spirit of Gyeomjae Jeongseon and the true-view painting culture, and to discover young emerging artists who will lead the future of the art world.


Now in its 13th year, the ‘Gyeomjae Tomorrow’s Artist’ contest is divided into Korean painting and Western painting categories, selecting a total of eight works including the grand prize-winning work ‘Eungsi’ by artist Jo Eun-byeol. The exhibition will be held from the opening ceremony on this day until September 18 at the first-floor special exhibition hall of the Gyeomjae Jeongseon Art Museum.
