Total Project Cost of 5 Billion Won to Be Invested by 2025
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yeo Jong-gu] Goryeong-gun, Gyeongbuk, has been finally selected for the '2022 Regional Demand-tailored Support Contest Project' hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The regional development contest project is a government-funded initiative aimed at expanding infrastructure and living convenience facilities in growth promotion areas.
The main projects include creating a complex return-to-farming town at Beoljib School, Dasan Elementary School, Dasan-myeon; a multipurpose auditorium for returnees and residents; a return-to-farming experience farm for educational purposes; and housing (a total of 12 units) for returnees and migrants.
With a total project cost of 5 billion KRW (2.5 billion KRW from the national government and 2.5 billion KRW from the county), the project plans to start with the designation of the project area and detailed design services in 2023 and complete the project by 2025.
Lee Nam-cheol, the governor of Goryeong-gun, said, "Being selected for this contest project will inject vitality into the region and serve as an opportunity leading to regional development and population increase," and added, "We ask for the active interest and support of local residents."
