[Imsil=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Imsil-gun, Jeonbuk, is promoting the ‘Village Community Media Activation Support Project,’ which captures various community activities such as culture, welfare, and arts held at the village level in media, in response to the era of media popularization.
According to the county on the 5th, the Village Community Media Activation Project is a communication platform where residents living in villages and neighborhoods directly participate.
It is a place for communication and public discussion to solve problems arising in or needed by the local community, involving a series of activities where various media platforms such as video, newspapers, internet radio, SNS, and YouTube are produced and distributed by residents.
Through a public contest by Jeonbuk Province, two participating villages (Hakjeong Village and Jowol Village) were selected under the supervision of the village community intermediary support organization, and the county is supporting project expenses for media production activities and costs, local agenda-setting discussion meetings, and expert consulting.
As part of this, media capacity-building education has been conducted four times from last month to this month for residents of Hakjeong Village in Samgye-myeon.
The education consists of four sessions of video production activities, where residents directly produce videos of community activities for maintaining and managing the village landscape.
Through this, it aims to cultivate a sense of community internally and provide an opportunity to widely promote the beautiful village scenery externally, to be used as promotional videos for village revitalization and urban-rural exchange.
The Village Community Media Activation Support Project is expected to have a high level of resident empathy because village residents, not experts, directly participate and capture voices from the field on issues closely related to daily life.
Additionally, it is anticipated that a consensus will be formed that connects the village community as one through media content utilizing the various resources the village possesses.
County Governor Shim Min said, “The village media project, which captures the sincere stories of villages and local residents, is expected to play a catalytic role not only in revitalizing the local community but also in promoting the region through various channels,” adding, “It is expected to have many roles and effects as a place for communication and promotion that captures the diverse voices of residents and village stories.”
