[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jung-wan] Former President Moon Jae-in and his wife, who visited Jeju for their summer vacation, enjoyed playing in the water at a beach in Seogwipo City and then visited the Olle Trail.
The nonprofit organization Jeju Olle posted on Facebook on the 3rd that former President Moon and First Lady Kim Jung-sook visited Jeju Olle Course 4 that morning, along with several photos.
In the released photos, former President Moon and Mrs. Kim posed at the seaside wearing matching black short-sleeve couple T-shirts with the English phrase "TRAIL MOVES PEOPLE" printed on them.
It was reported that the former president and his wife walked for about three hours from Pyoseon-ri in Seogwipo City to Tosan Port that morning, accompanied by their grandson, aides, and Seo Myeong-sook, Chairperson of Jeju Olle. On that day, Jeju Olle presented former President Moon with a Santiago Special Ganse (a doll representing "slowly" in Jeju dialect) as a gift. This was in recognition of his recent assistance during the signing of a joint completion certification agreement between the Santiago Pilgrimage Route, Spain’s representative walking course, and Jeju Olle.
Chairperson Seo said, "Last June, during former President Moon’s visit to Spain, we expressed our gratitude for the installation of Jeju symbols such as Dolharubang and the Olle Trail symbol Ganse along the Santiago Pilgrimage Route, Spain’s representative walking course," adding, "He was very pleased to receive the Santiago Special Ganse as a gift with our heartfelt thanks. We hope he enjoys the rest of his Jeju vacation by playing, resting, and having fun."
