[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Nongshim announced on the 3rd that it has partnered with the craft beer startup The Starlight Brewing to launch 'Kkang Beer Original' and 'Kkang Beer Black,' inspired by Saewookkang and Saewookkang Black.
Kkang Beer Original is a German traditional wheat beer in the Weizen style. It features a smooth throat feel and rich carbonation, which pairs well with the crispy texture of Saewookkang. Kkang Beer Black is a dark beer that matches the premium image of Saewookkang Black, characterized by a creamy body that harmonizes with Saewookkang Black and a clean taste. Both Kkang Beer varieties are released in 500mL cans and are available at convenience stores and large supermarkets nationwide.
A Nongshim representative said, "This collaboration was planned to provide consumers with a unique enjoyment by reinventing Saewookkang, a beloved national snack and a representative easy drinking accompaniment, as craft beer," adding, "We hope everyone enjoys the unusual combination of Saewookkang and Kkang Beer this summer, momentarily forgetting the heat and having a good time."
