SSG.com Sees Threefold Increase in Partner Vendors... "Over Half Are Small Businesses"

[Asia Economy, reporter Lim Chunhan] SSG.com announced on August 3 that, as of the first half of this year, the number of partner vendors on its platform has tripled since the company was established in 2019. The total transaction volume of all partner vendors has doubled, and more than half of these partners are small and medium-sized enterprises with annual sales of less than 3 billion KRW.

SSG.com is actively sharing its online sales expertise with its partner vendors and increasing collaboration by jointly developing strategic products that reflect current trends. The company holds a large-scale promotion for small and medium-sized partners once every half-year and offers various support measures, such as proposing the Ururu crowdfunding service to help expand sales channels.

The partner vendor category that showed the highest growth was those selling fresh food products, such as fruit, meat, and vegetables. As of the first half of this year, the number of these partners increased by 40% compared to 2019, and total transaction volume rose by 120%. This growth was attributed to increased exposure of partner products on the main page and the active inclusion of partner products in major promotions, such as Randerssg Day and Smile Club exclusive deals.

SSG.com is also strengthening cooperation with local government partners that sell premium regional agricultural products, thereby increasing product awareness. Through partnerships with online malls such as Saiso in North Gyeongsang Province and Gangwon The Mall in Gangwon Province, SSG.com has introduced high-quality local specialties. The company has also actively participated in agricultural product consumption campaigns organized by local governments, such as Korea Let’s Go for Agricultural Sales and the North Gyeongsang Sale Festa.

An SSG.com representative stated, "The growth of SSG.com has been greatly supported by our partner vendors, who have provided excellent products and worked with us to develop online sales strategies. We will continue to discover new partners and promising small and medium-sized enterprises, diversify our product categories, share the fruits of growth, and strive to build a mutually beneficial ecosystem."
