Indication of Valid Ticket on Tickets Purchased through KorailTalk
Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 2nd that starting from the 10th, the payment deadline for tickets on the mobile app 'KORAIL Talk' will be adjusted from 20 minutes to 10 minutes.
This is expected to prevent passengers who use trains with season tickets or the Naeilro pass from abusing the system by reserving tickets only to secure seats before the train departs.
Additionally, KORAIL plans to send real-time warning notifications, as reserving tickets only to secure seats seriously undermines other consumers' opportunities to purchase tickets.
Considering that the average time required to book a ticket has been reduced to 90 seconds due to the expansion of simple payment options on KORAIL Talk and the registration of frequently used cards, the payment process has been simplified.
However, from 20 minutes before the train departure, the payment deadline will be further adjusted to 5 minutes, and if payment is not made even after the departure time, the reservation will be automatically canceled.
Gu Hyuk-seo, head of KORAIL's Passenger Marketing Department, said, "We will continuously update policies and services based on various data analyses such as ticket payment types to enhance customer convenience."
