[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] Kim Yong-tae, Supreme Council Member of the People Power Party, criticized the party leadership's attempt to define the current situation as an "emergency" and transition to an Emergency Response Committee as a "fake resignation show" on the 2nd. Kim also called for Kwon Seong-dong, the party leader acting as interim president and floor leader, to resign from his floor leader position.

On the same day, through social media (SNS), Supreme Council Member Kim lamented, "When the Democratic Party forcibly passed the 'complete revision of the prosecution investigation' bill, I strongly condemned Representative Min Hyung-bae's 'fake withdrawal from the party,' but now witnessing our party's Supreme Council members' 'fake resignation' show only fills me with disillusionment."

He continued, "Immediately, Floor Leader Kwon Seong-dong should step down from his floor leader position," adding, "It is greedy to shamelessly hold onto the floor leader position and a seat in the leadership after leaving the party in such a state." Earlier, Acting Party Leader Kwon had expressed his intention to take responsibility for the internal party turmoil and resign from his acting position.

Supreme Council Member Kim also criticized, "(Floor Leader Kwon's) greed is endangering the nation and the people," and said, "Those who attended the party meeting and acted as yes-men, unable to say anything despite clearly knowing this, and who cared only for their own safety rather than the party's future, should be ashamed."
