Ottogi Renovates Packaging for 'Snack Myeon' 30th Anniversary

[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Eun-mo] Ottogi announced on the 2nd that it will commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Snack Noodle launch by redesigning the package and conducting a social media (SNS) comment event.


The new package design features maintaining the design identity of the existing product while highlighting the unique strengths of Snack Noodle. The short cooking time of just 2 minutes and the phrase "Ramen that tastes great when eaten with rice" are prominently placed to clearly express the product identity.


An SNS event has also been prepared. The event, themed "How to enjoy Snack Noodle deliciously," will run until the 11th of next month. Participants can access the event page by scanning the QR code inserted on the front of the Snack Noodle package or through the profile link on Ottogi’s official Instagram account. To participate, write a comment on how to enjoy Snack Noodle deliciously, and share it on your personal SNS along with a Snack Noodle image and the required hashtags.


Ottogi plans to select the 30 most creative and practical methods and produce a future "Snack Noodle 2-Minute Song." Selected participants will receive prizes such as △Samsung Electronics Bespoke Cooker (1 person) △JBL Bluetooth Speaker (29 people), and every week, 50 people will be drawn to receive a "Snack Noodle Multipack (5 packs)" among various other prizes.


Launched in 1992, Snack Noodle has built a solid fan base with its clean beef-based broth and thin, chewy noodles. In 2006, it was selected as the "most delicious ramen when eaten with rice" on a TV entertainment program, gaining word-of-mouth popularity and joining the ranks of steady sellers. An Ottogi official stated, "We plan to carry out various marketing activities to widely promote the strengths of Snack Noodle, which has enjoyed steady popularity for 30 years, so that it can establish itself as a long-lasting product loved by all age groups."
