Huhoo Combined for Spam Check and Voice Phishing Risk Detection
Up to 3 Million KRW Compensation for Telecom Financial Fraud Victims
[Asia Economy Reporter Cha Min-young] The MVNO company KT M Mobile announced on the 1st that it has launched two types of ‘Senior Phone Safety Plans,’ a bundled rate plan with a voice phishing prevention service for senior customers aged 65 and over.
The newly launched Senior Phone Safety Plans include ▲Senior Phone Safety 2GB+ (8,500 KRW per month) and ▲Senior Phone Safety 4GB+ (11,500 KRW per month), both of which allow free use of the paid ‘WhoWho’ service aimed at preventing financial fraud such as voice phishing.
The WhoWho service provides features to help prevent voice phishing incidents among seniors aged 65 and over, including ▲spam number checks ▲real-time call and text analysis to detect voice phishing risks ▲a safety service that connects to a guardian ▲and number interception detection service.
In particular, when using the Senior Phone Safety Plans, free coverage from Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance is provided, offering compensation up to 3 million KRW in case of financial fraud damage during the plan usage and up to 2 million KRW for attorney fees.
The Senior Phone Safety Plans support unlimited calls and texts, and even after the monthly data allowance is exhausted, the ‘Senior Phone Safety 2GB+’ allows data usage at speeds up to 400 Kbps, while the ‘Senior Phone Safety 4GB+’ allows speeds up to 1 Mbps.
