[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Samsung C&T Fashion Division announced on the 1st that it will relaunch the online-exclusive product line of the casual brand Beanpole, 'Green Beanpole,' as a sustainability line composed of eco-friendly products.
Green Beanpole features products made from environmentally friendly materials and methods, including recycled materials made from discarded PET bottles and clothing, organic materials, down filling certified by the Responsible Down Standard (RDS), cotton certified by the Better Cotton Initiative (BCI) that minimizes the use of fertilizers and pesticides while respecting labor conditions and human rights, and water-saving washing techniques.
Beanpole will mainly sell Green Beanpole products through online channels such as SSF Shop, Samsung C&T Fashion Division’s online mall, but some offline stores including The Hyundai Seoul, Times Square, and Starfield Goyang and Anseong will also carry the line. Considering that the target customers of Green Beanpole are mainly in their 20s and 30s, the prices were set at about 80% of the main product line. For this fall and winter season, the collection includes young-designed men's and women's casual wear such as sweatshirts, shirts, cable knits, chino and denim pants, down jumpers, and duffle coats.
Won Eunkyung, head of the Beanpole Business Division, said, "Starting this year, we have reorganized Green Beanpole into a 100% eco-friendly product line to convey sustainability, the core value pursued by Beanpole," adding, "Through clothing that applies eco-friendly materials and Beanpole’s unique classic design, we will present sustainable fashion for the future to millennial consumers."
