[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] KT announced on the 1st that it will launch the 'Sajangnim Baedal POS Phone' product. The 'Sajangnim Baedal POS Phone' is a product that combines the delivery intermediary POS (Point of Sale) solution 'Sajangnim Baedal POS' with a landline phone plan.
Sajangnim Baedal POS is a service launched in cooperation with Foodtech, a leading delivery intermediary platform company with which KT signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) last February. This service simultaneously handles order acceptance from various delivery apps such as 'Baedal Minjok' and calls delivery riders. It is officially linked with Baedal Minjok, offering faster and simpler order processing compared to competitors, and is connected with over 90 delivery agencies nationwide, which is a key advantage.
Small restaurant business owners previously had to use separate programs from each delivery app and delivery agency to process delivery orders, and had to manually enter each delivery order into the POS system. In stores with many delivery orders, it was common to hire staff solely to handle deliveries.
KT explained that by using Sajangnim Baedal POS, complicated delivery order processing can be handled quickly, allowing more orders during peak times to be fulfilled, which helps increase sales for small business owners. It also provides analysis information such as store weather, order channels, commercial district, and delivery sales by menu.
The KT Sajangnim Baedal POS Phone product adds a landline phone to the Sajangnim Baedal POS service and is available for 23,100 KRW per month. It can be used by installing only the Sajangnim Baedal POS program on existing POS systems as well as laptops and PCs. The phone plan includes 30 minutes of free calls. It is also possible to subscribe using an internet phone instead of a landline, and when using the internet phone plan, 30 minutes of calls and caller ID display are free.
Meanwhile, KT is running a promotion offering three months of free benefits to commemorate the launch, which will continue until January 7 of next year.
