Shinan-gun Rapidly Emerging as a Popular Destination for School Trips

[Sinan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-kyung] Jeonnam Sinan-gun has launched full-scale promotional activities for school trips to revitalize local tourism and improve tourism accommodation readiness.

Prior to this, a two-day fam tour was conducted from the 10th for 15 representatives and executives of the Educational Travel Agency Division under the Korea Association of Travel Agents (KATA).

Sinan-gun focused on promoting the UNESCO World Natural Heritage Sinan mudflat natural resources and excellent tourism resources, accommodations, and tourism policies as locations for Purple Island, 1004 Museum Park, Jeungdo Taepyeong Salt Farm, yacht experiences, and marine ecosystem carbon neutrality practice education.

The Korea Association of Travel Education announced that it has prepared a Sinan-gun school trip standard and distributed it to member companies, and will operate VIP products starting in September.

Additionally, the county announced that it will provide incentives to educational travel agencies (school trips) from this month through December to revitalize the local economy.

The support conditions for travel agencies hosting school trips are KRW 10,000 per person for one night with 30 or more people, and KRW 20,000 per person for two nights with 30 or more people.

A Sinan-gun official said, “The fam tour, product development, and school trip operations by the Korea Association of Educational Travel, which plays a central role in middle school trips of about 200,000 people from Seoul and the metropolitan area, will fill the weekday gaps in accommodations and restaurants, leading to revitalization of local tourism and improvement of accommodation readiness.”
